The Partnership for Safe Water was started over 20 years ago, as a cooperative effort between six water sector organizations, with a mission to improve the quality of drinking water delivered to customers by optimizing water treatment plant and distribution system operations. The more recently established Partnership for Clean Water helps wastewater utilities preserve environmental water quality and improve efficiency by optimizing wastewater treatment facility operations.
The Sr Manager - Partnership Programs provides technical expertise, leadership, and management to the Partnership Programs and other AWWA projects and programs. Position has one direct report.
Manage and lead the Partnership Programs including but not limited to the Partnership for Safe Water (PSW), the Partnership for Clean Water (PCW), and others as developed
Lead strategic planning process for the development of short and long-term program objectives for existing and new Partnership programs
Communicate with current and potential Partnership Program subscribers
Develop and manage Partnership budgets; meet annual revenue and expense goals
Analyze and maximize the benefits of the Partnership Programs by continuously evaluating subscriber feedback, retention and recruitment performance, and impact of Program participation on water management and operations and implement modifications, or new program development, to enhance subscriber value
Create and coordinate promotional efforts and recruitment channels to attract and recruit new Partnership Program subscribers
Manage and oversee production and delivery of materials and reports for Partnership Program subscribers
Support AWWA’s grant strategy relative to Partnership programs and manage the implementation of grant-funded projects
Provide continuing support and information to Partnership Committees
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or water-related scientific discipline required; master’s degree in engineering or Master of Business Administration (MBA) strongly preferred
Current Professional Engineer (PE) registration preferred
Current water, wastewater, or distribution system operator license preferred
Minimum of five (5) years’ technical experience in water supply operations or engineering required including experience managing or leading small to mid-size teams
Minimum of three (3) years’ supervisory experience strongly preferred
Proficient in MS Office Suite.
Successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities in an evolving work environment with shifting time frames. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills including ability to listen attentively and to communicate technical information effectively throughout all levels of the organization and with external clients, customers, members, and/or volunteers with varying levels of familiarity with material.

Compensation dependent on candidate’s qualifications. AWWA offers a highly competitive benefits package with immediate eligibility and vesting on our retirement savings plan that includes both a 3% company match and 6% employer contribution upon hire.
