Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is currently seeking an addition to the Environmental Engineering Team in Nova Scotia and/or New Brunswick. We are currently recruiting for an Intermediate Environmental Engineer/Geoscientist who is a motivated team player to support our operations.
The successful candidate will possess detailed knowledge and experience associated with contaminated sites including Phased Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) and remediation, the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and exhibit strong technical skills.
Fredericton, NB or Dartmouth, NS
Manage technical support and writing of Phase I, II ESAs and Baseline ESAs, and monitor programs, peer reviews and remediation projects
Applying technical knowledge and methods to formulate solutions and approaches to standard problems in the area of site assessment and remediation
Prepare proposals including the development of project scopes, schedules, budgets and coordination of staff
Interpretation of environmental regulations and field/laboratory results
Liaise with clients, regulators and subcontractors
Ultimately ensure geological / environmental studies are conducted safely and in strict compliance with Company proprietary safety standards, government regulations and environmental concerns
Skills / Qualifications
Must have a University Degree in a related field such as Environmental Science, Geology, or Environmental / Civil Engineering
Designated Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.)
Must have minimum of 7-10 years of related experience
Ability to manage the demands of multiple concurrent projects and challenging deadlines
Experience with large environmental assessment and remediation projects
Experience working with diverse (both technically and geographically) project teams
Self-starter, able to complete tasks with minimal supervision and direction
Demonstrated professional judgment, consistency, and attention to detail; track record of quality work products
Strong oral and written communication skills; experience preparing reports that demonstrate technical knowledge
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Federal and Provincial contaminated sites legislation, regulations and processes
Additional experience in auditing, hazardous materials assessments, or risk assessment would be an asset
Demonstrated supervisory experience of project team including junior professionals, technicians and subcontractors
Reliability, strong work ethic and ability to work in a team-oriented environment are a must
