The Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology invites applications for a tenure-track position with an anticipated start date of August 2020. The department offers a B.S. in Civil Engineering that is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET.
Requirements include a doctorate or near completion in civil or environmental engineering or closely related field and evidence of or demonstrated potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching. We are looking for candidates from the transportation or environmental sub-disciplines who embrace the mission and vision of Rose-Hulman to join our collegial team of faculty. Applicants should demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate engineering education including laboratory instruction and life-long personal professional development. Professional registration and professional practice experience are highly desirable. In addition, successful applicants will be prepared to teach a few courses outside their immediate sub-discipline expertise. The department and the institute place a high value on engaging students from traditionally underrepresented groups, and candidates from these groups are especially encouraged to apply.
Essential job responsibilities include teaching and advising students, continued professional development, and service to the department, institute and professional community.
