The Department of Biosystems and Agricultural Engineering at Oklahoma State University has an open position for a Post-doctoral Fellow. The selected candidate will assist with developing and managing a multi-state applied research and extension project focused on evaluating, demonstrating, and transferring innovative technologies that can result in water conservation in flood (gravity) irrigation systems.
The candidate must be able and willing to supervise undergraduate and graduate students, travel on a regular basis, and perform fieldwork under variable weather conditions. The start date could be as early as February 10, 2020. This is a 11 month appointment with the possibility of renewal based on performance and availability of funding.

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in agricultural engineering, biosystems engineering, civil engineering, plant and/or soil science, or a closely related field. Excellent oral and written communication skills and a valid U.S. driver’s license are required. Required experience includes knowledge and experience in irrigated agriculture, especially flood (gravity) irrigation systems, experience with managing and conducting fieldwork, proven record of peer-reviewed journal publications and extension fact-sheets, and ability to coordinate a multi-state project with researchers, collaborating producers, and industry partners from four states.
