Dart Container is looking for a Gage Design Supervisor to join us in the modest town of Mason, Michigan at our lively Corporate Headquarters.
As our Gage Design Supervisor you will lead a team of 5 professionals dedicated to the gage design and calibration functions at Dart to ensure quality products and prevent defects in all phases of the manufacturing process from suppliers to customers. You will also work across functionally within our Engineering department to train, implement and design documentation system for the Dart Product Approval Process (DPAP) project. We are looking for a candidate with exceptional communication skills and confidence in order to lead by influence rather than positional authority. Core Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must possess all of the following:
Requires one of the following:
Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in engineering or related field of study and six (6) years of related experience, OR
Associate’s degree and twelve (12) years of related engineering experience
Two (2) years of demonstrated technical leadership
Experience utilizing various statistical and quality methodologies including but not limited to Statistical Process Control (SPC), Statistical Quality Control (SQC), 5S, 8D, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause Analysis, Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (R&R), and Design of Experiments (DOE)
Experience leading and participating in cross-functional teams on complex projects
Understanding of and ability to analyze measurement error as relates to products, ability to use this information to advance measurement science within the company
Understanding or engineering background of dimensional metrology
Advanced knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various products
Up to 25% domestic and international travel
Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license and passport
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Quality Manager, and Certified Calibration Technician, or willingness to achieve within 18 months
