This Quality Manager is responsible for all Quality Control and Quality Assurance activities for HNH (Human Nutrition & Health) Premix in North America. This role is directly responsible for all QA/QC employees in Schenectady, NY, Belvidere, NJ and Ontario CA.
The Quality Manager will hold a key role in the leadership of all aspects of quality in HNH (Human Nutrition & Health) Premix including ensuring operations are provided expeditious service in order that financial results can be delivered.
The Position
Directs efforts to ensure effective Quality Program and Performance Improvement implementation throughout the region
Establishes quality and reliability standards by studying product and consumer requirements with other members of management and with production operators, technicians, and engineers.
Monitors and communicates with Operations regarding quality improvement trends. Assists in preparations of metric reports and development of meaningful improvement plans. Leads Monthly Quality and Quarterly Operating Reviews.
Establishes raw material and Finished Goods standards / specifications by studying manufacturing and engineering requirements; conferring and negotiating with suppliers; devising testing methods and procedures.
Drives simplification and standardization of audit process and execution across sites to ensure compliance with new and emerging regulatory standards and requirements
Establishes product quality documentation system by writing and updating quality assurance procedures.
Responsible for leading and facilitating investigation, required reporting, and corrective action development for serious quality or risk issues within organization and with customers
Maintains product quality by enforcing quality assurance policies and procedures and government requirements; collaborating with other members of management to develop new product and engineering designs and manufacturing and training methods.
Prepares and reports product and process quality reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
Develops quality assurance and control staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
Maintains quality assurance staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
Develops professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Achieves financial objectives by preparing the quality assurance budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
The Ideal
Minimum 10 years in QA/QC department Management in food & Beverage / Pharmaceutical / Dietary Supplements / Nutrition Ingredients
Demonstrated knowledge / experience in working of cGMP/ICH/FDA regulations preferred
Progressive experience in managing people and multiple functions in quality
Minimum BS in Life science / related science (Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biochemistry, Food & Beverage, Medical Engineering)
Refined critical thinking skills, with an emphasis on flexibility and risk-based, phase-appropriate approaches to problem-solving.
Highly collaborative team player who fosters open communication and facilitates mutual understanding and cooperation between all stakeholders.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and communications skills.
Self-directed individual who can work independently in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment.
Ability to effectively influence key stakeholders at all levels of the organization
