Provide electrical engineering and project management support for capital and maintenance projects, construction management, field response and commissioning.
Act as project manager using project team concepts to assure successful projects from inception to closeout
Develop & provide technical specifications, drawings for equipment procurement and construction contracts
Develop project cost estimates
Develop and track project schedules and provide progress reports
Provide contract and construction management
Manage third party engineering services
Test and commission newly installed and upgraded substation equipment for energization
Assist the Engineering Projects Support Administrator with contract closeout documentation.
Provide technical assistance to Transmission Operations and Maintenance staff by preparing verbal and/or written technical answers to problems and questions
Provide technical review of system changes proposed by Planning Division from both design and constructability viewpoints
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (power option preferred) from an accredited college or university
4 plus years of experience in design, construction and troubleshooting problems in electrical substations
Understanding of substation design configurations and physical design
Determine necessary Substation Equipment Ratings based on fault studies and future load requirements
Interpret transformer and breaker test results and determine corrective measures
Understand Relay Coordination Techniques
Effective oral and written communication skills
Effective team leadership and participant skills
Thorough understanding of word processing, spreadsheets, and computer applications in SharePoint software
Thorough understanding of IEEE/ANSI, IEC, and RUS Standards, along with NESC requirements
Professional Engineer Certificate or an Engineer-In-Training Certificate and working toward obtaining a PE
