The Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering (CCEE) Department at Iowa State University (ISU) invites applications for a part-time position of term faculty member to teach ConE 380: Engineering Law during the fall and spring semesters. Topics in this course include, but are not limited to, contract law, construction contracts, torts, professional liability, and organization of the legal system.
The successful candidate is envisioned to be an enthusiastic educator who is able to use an appropriate mix of traditional and/or innovative approaches, such as online, project-based, active, and asynchronous learning, to deliver course material. The position is for a one-, two-, or three-year term with a potential for renewal. The position is not eligible for tenure, but has the potential to be reviewed for advancement into senior ranks. Candidates are expected to have an excellent record of achievement in engineering law. Candidates should have strong communication skills and share our commitment to diversity and inclusivity. Department/Program & College Description:
Construction Engineering at Iowa State University is an ABET accredited program and a national leader in construction education enjoying strong industry and academic support and enrolls more than 270 undergraduate students. The CCEE Department offers B.S. degree programs in civil engineering, civil engineering with environmental engineering emphasis, construction engineering, and environmental engineering plus M.S., MEng, and Ph.D. graduate degree programs in civil engineering. CCEE maintains externally funded research in excess of $17.7 million annually and demonstrates a commitment to diversity among faculty, staff, and students who can enrich University objectives in the areas of research, teaching, and service.

Bachelors degree in engineering or related discipline and 5 years of relevant work experience.
OR
Masters degree in engineering or related discipline and 1 year of relevant work experience.
OR
Doctoral degree in engineering or related discipline
Preferred Qualifications:
PhD and 2 years of applicable professional experience
JD degree and 2 years of applicable professional experience
