WHO WE NEED We are seeking a versatile and team-oriented Construction Inspector for a federally funded bridge project located in the Town of Fowler/Town of Russell, St Lawrence County. The successful candidate will be required to provide on-site observation and recordkeeping duties, including but not limited to reviewing submittals, monitoring construction operations, computing final quantities, completing diaries and daily work reports, reviewing contractor compliance with contract documents and EEO/DBE/MBE requirements, and reviewing payment requests. Qualifications sought include: - NICET Level 3 Certification or equivalent experience.
- Prior construction inspection experience on NYSDOT projects and/or locally administered federal aid projects in NYS.
- Prior construction inspection experience with bridge cleaning and painting requirements.
- Ability to climb, crawl, and kneel to properly inspect work.
- Excellent recordkeeping skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel programs.
- Proficiency with MURK.
- Experience with CEES/APPIA or other construction recordkeeping software is a plus.
The candidate should have an Associates Degree in Civil Technology and 10 years of relevant experience, or a high school diploma with 15 years of relevant experience. Salary will depend on experience.
