SMMA is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our talented group of designers and problem-solvers. This person's primary responsibility will be assisting a senior engineer in the design, analysis, detailing, and drafting of building structures while developing experience and skills to begin working on projects independently. An ideal candidate will have proficiency using Revit and building analysis software, such as RAM Structural System or ETABS. This engineer will play a critical role throughout projects’ full lifecycles, from concept design to final construction documents and during construction administration.

Key Responsibilities:
Structural analysis, design, and detailing of building components, consisting of steel, concrete, and wood materials.
Modeling building structures using a variety of analysis software.
Developing structural BIM models in Revit Structure and drafting structural details.
Coordination with in-house architects and MEP engineers.
Construction administration activities including shop drawing review, answering RFIs and creating field observation reports.

Skills and Qualifications:
Completed Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering
4-8 years of experience in structural engineering of buildings
Completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination
PE/SE license preferred, or on path to obtaining.
Knowledge of building design fundamentals, codes, and standards
Experience with a variety of design software and programs (Revit, RAM Structural system, ETABS, RISA, Enercalc, CSC Tedds, AutoCAD), as well as Microsoft Office
Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills and with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with internal team members.
