The Wei Lab at Vanderbilt University Medical Center - Department of Biomedical Informatics - Center for Precision Medicine was founded to enable better research through better electronic health record (EHR) based phenotyping. Wei-Qi Wei, MD, PhD, Assistant Professor in Biomedical Informatics, is looking to recruit talented postdoctoral researchers with a passion for science to support numerous National Institutes of Health (NIH) grants in the area of EHR phenotyping, natural language processing (NLP), machine learning, PheWAS, and Pharmacogenomics research.
Under Vanderbilt's Biomedical Research Education and Training (BRET) Office, the program will provide RCR training, high-standard Individual Development Plans (IDP), and the Career Development Programs.

The Vanderbilt Genomic Medicine Training Program (VGM) includes a major focus in pharmacogenomics, precision phenotyping, medical informatics, and disease-based genomics. The program has 32 highly collaborative and well-funded faculty preceptors who team up to provide both basic and clinical research training opportunities to both Ph.D.-level and M.D.-level postdoctoral fellows. Trainees will participate in rotations, internships, seminars, journal clubs, and retreats and interact with other trainees and faculty. Under Vanderbilt’s Biomedical Research Education and Training (BRET) Office, the program will provide RCR training, high-standard Individual Development Plans (IDP), and the Career Development programs.
