We are looking to hire a Structural Professional Engineer with transit/transportation experience to work with our transit partners.
Delon Hampton & Associates, Chartered a minority-owned, professional consulting engineering services firm headquartered in Washington, DC, is seeking a licensed professional structural engineer. We are seeking an innovative, creative individual who works well together, as part of a team and as an independent thinker. Each person is an integral part of our projects, and helps to develop solutions for engineering challenges. Technical knowledge and willingness to “think outside the box” is a must. The majority of project types include, bridges, aerial structures, and buildings.
Qualifications
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in civil/structural engineering or a related field, with emphasis on structural design is required;
Five (5) years of demonstrable experience in the design and redesign of bridges, aerial structures and buildings with reinforced concrete and steel;
A Professional Engineering (PE) license for DC, MD and/or VA is required;
Demonstrated experience in structural work of transit infrastructure such as bridges, bridge joint replacements and rehabilitation of similar infrastructure is preferred;
Knowledge of and practical experience in bridge and building design criteria and standards;
Familiarity with industry standards and best practices, comfortable working with other engineering professionals;
Familiarity with building codes;
Knowledge of design for a variety of building types, bridges and materials including reinforced concrete, structural steel, and masonry;
Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit and BIM; and
Excellent verbal/written communication skills, and strong technical writing skills.
Location This position is located in Washington, D.C.
