Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions, Inc. has an opening for a Senior level Engineer in our Sacramento, CA office to support and grow our environmental remediation practice and provide environmental consulting services in support of public and private clientele. We are looking for a candidate who is excited about the opportunity to maintain and grow our environmental consulting business with knowledge and technical skills in design and implementation of soil and groundwater remediation systems. Experience with CERCLA Feasibility Studies a plus. This position requires an individual with effective communication skills as significant client, agency, public, and team interactions are expected. Candidates should be self - motivated and able to work on projects with variable complexity with the desire and ability to mentor and build a strong support team.
Key Responsibilities
Perform design, oversight, mentorship and direct the efforts of staff - and project - level engineers
Market and develop new work to support the continued growth of the engineering department and the office
Consulting and management for municipal, commercial, and industrial projects
Coordinate multi - discipline team for public and commercial projects
Maintain relationships with key client project managers
Support proposal preparation work and technical work scope development
Recruit employees: assign, direct, and evaluate their work
Be able to lead or follow other Principal, Senior, and Staff level employees as the situations occur
Manage multiple projects, being responsible for ensuring that deliverables, schedules, and budgets are achieved
Travel to project(s), as needed, for the execution of project goals
Skills / Qualifications*
B.S. in Engineering required, MS in Engineering a plus
California professional licensure in Civil Engineering
8 - 12 years related environmental experience
40 - Hour OSHA HAZWOPER Certification required
Previous consulting experience required
Strong desire to provide excellent, innovative, practical solutions and a commitment to technical excellence
Must be a self - starter, team oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work with, mentor, and direct engineers, scientists, and technicians
Well organized and exhibit ability to successfully track and meet budgets and schedules
Oversee remedy construction and operation and maintenance of environmental project work
Selling, managing, performing, and consulting on projects and programs, including a wide range of project sizes
Must pass drug test, physical, background check and must have a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (Motor Vehicle Safety) policy
