This position performs as the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) administrator for the Transportation Asset Management System (TAMS) and Maintenance Management System (VueWorks). This position will lead, guide and support the implementation, measurement, and management of VueWorks and required statewide training. This position will support statewide alignment for all asset management operational initiatives. This position will manage consultant contracts associated with implementation of VueWorks and supporting systems and be responsible for accounting for the results. This position will be responsible for coordinating TAMS with the statewide Performance Based Maintenance (PBM) initiative, system owner representatives, automation manager, Geographic Information System (GIS) coordinator and other MDOT asset owners. A basic understanding of Geographic Information System (GIS) principles desired.
Based on operational needs, this position may be eligible for remote work beginning July 12, 2021. Currently, some of our employees are temporarily working remotely as part of our COVID-19 response and others are working on site.
Education Possession of a bachelor of science degree in engineering.
Experience Four years of professional experience equivalent to a Transportation Engineer, including two years equivalent to a Transportation Engineer P11 or one year equivalent to a Transportation Engineer 12 or Transportation Engineer Licensed 12.
Additional Requirements and Information
Possession of a registered professional engineering license as required by the State of Michigan.
Possession of a valid drivers license is required.
