Drebelbis Engineering specializes in Forensic Engineering and offers a career pathway for a qualified civil, structural, or architectural engineer. Required are a professional engineering license and experience in building design and/or construction.
Drebelbis Engineering’s extensive background is engagement by insurance adjusters and attorney clients on projects where they ask us to diagnose problems related to drainage, foundations, construction and building codes. Project locations are primarily in Texas and surrounding states.
Forensic engineering is an engaging way to practice engineering and an opportunity to make a difference through a variety of unique, and often unusual, engineering case studies. For example, some of our recent cases addressed the following issues: “Why did this concrete formwork fail?” “Should the house be demolished because an airplane crashed into it?” “Why is this house sliding down the hill?” “Why is this structural system failing?” “Who bears responsibility for this defective construction?” “Was the engineering contract properly administered?” To answer these questions involves investigation, research, and knowledge of engineering fundamentals, engineering process and engineering contracts.
A candidate’s history in forensic engineering is not mandatory, but curiosity, engineering knowledge and creative thinking are. An entrepreneurial spirit is helpful for one aspiring to eventually own and operate this firm. Expect to exercise your puzzle-solving capabilities. Mentoring and project involvement will develop your skills to deliver the specialized services for this fascinating and in-demand field. Visit www.drebelbisengineering.com and contact us.
