DEPARTMENT:Highway Engineering Division
HIRING RATE:Up to $147,917.38 based on education and position related
experience

POSITION TO BE FILLED:ASAP
HOURS & DAYS OF WORK: 40 hour work week (salary exempt position)
LOCATION OF POSITION: Elkhart County Highway Offices, Goshen
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Within County (please complete driving page on application)
JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for oversight of the design and construction of roads and bridges. Supervises, motivates, and assigns projects to engineering staff and consultants. Maintains short and long-term capital improvement plan. Responsible for delivering projects on time and within budget.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Baccalaureate Degree in Civil Engineering
Professionally licensed
Thorough knowledge of and ability to make practical application of standard principles and practices of engineering and Federal, State and local regulations regarding road and bridge construction, development standards, drainage, and traffic studies
Demonstrated knowledge of utilizing Federal and State grants
Excellent organizational and communication skills required
Experience estimating project costs and accounting for costs, labor, materials, quantities, etc.
Demonstrated experience in hiring, managing, and terminating employees
