NATURE OF WORK: The public works crew leader performs, assigns, and monitors the maintenance work of the public works street division. Work involves directing a crew of 10+ employees  and participating in various  maintenance activities that include but are not limited to  restoring pavement following lead service water line replacements,  maintaining streets, alleys, sidewalks, including pavers, right-of-way maintenance, snow and ice control, minor construction projects and other street maintenance functions as needed. Employees may be assigned tasks of a similar or higher level classification to gain experience and training in preparation for advancement.  Safety equipment such as hard hats, safety glasses, reflective vests, gloves, stee
